Mark Lenhart
Director of CET Academic Programs
Mark Lenhart has worked for CET Academic Programs since 1990, when he began as Resident Director of CET’s Harbin Chinese Language Program. After nearly five years studying and working in China, he became CET’s Director in 1995, and he oversaw CET’s expansion from a small provider of two Chinese language programs to a much larger organization with programs in seven countries. Currently CET enrolls more than 1000 students/year and employs around 40 staff in Washington, DC and overseas. As a student, Mark focused on Asian Studies, Chinese language, photography, and cultural anthropology, and he has degrees from Bowdoin College, Harvard University, and the University of Maryland. Mark is a member of NAFSA, the Association of Asian Studies, and the Forum on Education Abroad. He also serves on the executive team of the Fund for Education Abroad.
